Amanda's first Faerie Portrait was a birthday card for her mother.
With a quick look around her home for a model,
she found a photo of her favorite female singer, Stevie Nicks.
The resulting artwork, "Jane's Faerie," is a free-spirited sprite
modeled loosely on Nicks. Amanda created a few more faeries as gifts
for family and friends, and was encouraged by all to create a series of
"Stevie Faeries."

Nimue

"Nimue" was also created loosely using an image of Nicks.
Some people think this faerie more closely resembles singer Linda Ronstadt.
Amanda has also been inspired by the faces of Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart.

"Amber" was one of the first faeries done without the addition of metallic ink.
Amanda decided to call these faerie portraits "Nixies."

Rigantona

The first official Nixie was "Rigantona" ~
named after the ancient Welsh goddess who may have later been called "Rhiannon".
Her name means "Great Queen", and we feel it aptly suits this proud, sultry Faerie.
"Rigantona" has since become the signature piece for Leaping Princess Studios.

A canvas print of Amanda's Nixie, "Rigantona"
was donated to the Wild Heart Affair 2001 in San Francisco
to help celebrate Stevie's birthday that year.
